Desert Ridge Building

Open spaces in the North Phoenix area around Desert Ridge are starting to fill up - this time with more than just big box stores, single family homes and restaurants that defined this area for a decade.  Instead, the area surrounding Desert Ridge is getting a welcome dose of business and services that will add JOBS,JOBS,JOBS, and hopefully keep more Desert Ridge condo owners and home owners from heavy commutes into other parts of the valley while attracting more residents.  Here are some of the exciting things going on in this hot Phoenix area:

ASU/Mayo Health Futures Center

Arizona State University is solidifying its relationship with the Mayo Clinic by building a 150,000 square foot "Health Futures Center" (pictured under construction above) that will including a Medtech Accelerator, biomedical engineering and informatics research labs, nursing program and educational space.  Due to be completed in late 2020, the Health Futures Center is next door to the Mayo Clinic hospital off of 56th Street.

Mayo Clinic expansion

Mayo Clinic is planning for a $648 million expansion of its property south of the 101 that will add approximately 2000 jobs to the medical center.  The hospital will be adding 1.4 million square feet of space, that will include an addition to the hospital bed count.

More Building for American Express

The American Express offices on 56th Street is expanding with a 4th building that makes this already large corporate office center even larger.  The company plans to move several thousand employees from a leased office space on 31st Avenue to this campus.

A City North Reboot at the 101 and 56th Street

After years of being mired in legal issues, the land just south of High Street in Desert Ridge has been sold to Crown Realty and Development and branded (again) as CityNorth.  This large piece of property is massive, and will most likely include highrise buildings.  It is zoned for 2 million square feet of office space, 500 hotel rooms, 100,000 square feet of retail, and 2500 residential units that will most likely be apartments.  Crown was the developer for The Montelucia resort and the Mountain Shadows community in Paradise Valley.

More Desert Ridge Condos!

The Luxe is a new construction luxury condo community that promises to blow the socks off of the nearby Desert Ridge condo communities in terms of luxury interiors and amenities.  Residences will include large patios and balconies, underground parking bays and private storage rooms. Built by Statesman, the developer that built Toscana at Desert Ridge, The Luxe condos will start at the mid-$500's.
